After two weeks of Christmas break, Warren County students were up and at ‘em early Thursday morning braving icy wind. The freezing temps didn’t keep these (mostly) eager beavers from getting back in the swing of things.
Instructional Coach Candy Seals and her colleagues Phyllis Boren and Tracy Walkup were up early to report to traffic duty. Wearing their parkas and snow hats, they cheerfully greeted and escorted car riders safely to the gym.
“For the most part everyone is ready to be back to structure and a schedule,” says Seals. “Everyone seems to be excited to be back. The break was nice but we miss our students when they are not here.”
Traffic duty is certainly a labor of love, opening car doors and getting students out safely every single morning.
“I personally love getting to greet the students each morning,” added Seals. “It is one of the highlights of my day.”
Most of the students were excited and happy to be back at school to see their friends and talk about what they did over the break.
Warren County Schools take their next holiday Monday, Jan. 15 on Martin Luther King Day, creating a three-day weekend.
Soon after that, Parent/Teacher Conferences will be happening to discuss student progress made during the first semester.
