McMinnville resident and Warren County native Barry Lynn McCormick, 53, was born June 23, 1967 and died Aug. 30 at his residence following an extended illness.

A rework/ press operator with Shiroki North America in Smithville and a member of the Baptist church, he was the son of Lois McCormick of McMinnville and the late David McCormick. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Remus and Lula Mae McCormick and maternal grandparents, Johnny and Mabel O’Neal.        

In addition to his mother, he is survived by son Nathan McCormick of Nashville, siblings Dwayne (Kristie) McCormick, Angela Rhea, Lisa Childers and Chad (April) McCormick, all of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Friendship Baptist Church with Jason Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. till the time of service Thursday at the church. There will be no visitation or service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
