Bobby Lee “Bob” Davenport, 71

Bobby Lee “Bob” Davenport, 71, left this earthly life for a better realm on Oct. 16, 2023 at St. Thomas West Hospital. A Warren County native and current resident, he was a Christian, a member of the Bates Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of the Warren County Lions Club.  Bob is preceded in death by his parents, James A. Davenport and Thelma Davis Davenport Hesler; his father-in-law, Elgie Riddle; step-father, Wayne Hesler; and brother, Jim Davenport. 

 He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susie Davenport; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Riddle; his godchildren, Amiel (Geanina) Emerson, Simey (Caleb) Rockwell and Libnis Emerson; grand-godchild, Aris; best friends, Billy Cunningham and Hector Labrada; niece and nephew, Kim and Brian Davenport; his church family and Lions family; a host of friends and loved ones.

Bob was an active member of his church where he served as an elder, Joyful Pilgrims Sunday School teacher and youth leader for many years.  He was a member of the Warren County Area Cumberland Presbyterian Parish Council.  He was a very active member of Lions Clubs International and the Warren County Lions Club. He had served as Council Chairperson for the Lions of the State of Tennessee.  He was the sponsor of the Leo Club at Centertown Elementary. He retired from Tennessee Valley Health Care System (VA Hospital) at both Nashville and Murfreesboro campuses.  He was a member of the America Academy of Healthcare Executives.

Lions Club members are asked to act as honorary pallbearers.

Funeral services for Bob will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20  in the chapel of the McMinnville Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Interment will be after the funeral in Champ Cemetery in Lincoln County, Tenn. at 3:30 p.m. Friday.  Visitation will be at McMinnville Funeral Home Thursday, Oct. 19, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Friday, Oct. 20, from 10 p.m.  until time of service with Robby Black and Hector Labrada officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Warren County Lions Club or to Bates Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Donations may either be mailed to 308 W. Green Hill Rd., McMinnville, Tenn. 37110
