Brenda Kay McGee, 61, a resident of Manchester, passed Jan. 29 following an extended illness.

Born in Indianapolis, Ind., on July 31, 1958, and a member of St. Mary Church of Christ, Brenda was the daughter of the late John and Maggie Barnes. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids especially being active as they participated in sports, enjoyed being with her girlfriends as they shared a birthday club, and treasured cooking for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Wallace and Francis Barnes and maternal grandparents Shelie and Effie Young, father-in-law John Wilbur McGee and mother-in-law Francis Lucille Butcher.

Brenda was married June 15, 1974 to John Dennis McGee. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons Jonathon Casey (Kim) McGee of Lebanon, and Barret Chase (Faith) McGee of Morrison, six grandchildren Jaelin, Ty, Bree, Noah, Owen, and Adysin, sister Melanie (Larry) Kersey of Manchester, brother John Brent (Marsha) Barnes of Indianapolis, Ind., sisters-in-law Lisa McGee of McMinnville and Tina McGee of Rock Island, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.  Casey McGee, Chase McGee, and Bro. Derrick Stiles will officiate. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery. The McGee family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
