Charles William “Charlie” Pearson, 89, died peacefully Friday night, Oct. 4, 2024, after a brief illness. Charlie grew up in Sumner County, but lived most of his life in Warren County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a minister in the Church of Christ, was the only manager of the Cooper Martin Grocery Store, and until he was 80, was an independent custom cabinetry maker. He was a mentor and inspiration to many. Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Edith Lehew Pearson; parents, Minous Pearson and Willie Rippy Pearson Mandrell; and all eight of his siblings. He will be missed in our community.
