Mr. Derek Alan Crouch, 25, of McMinnville died Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. 

He was born on April 23, 1996 in Murfreesboro. He was a farmer, enjoyed raising chickens, and everyone knew him as an avid UT Vols fan. Mr. Crouch was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Hoyt and Nancy Crouch.

Derek is survived by his mother Kristie (Joe) McClelland, father Mark Crouch, grandparents Gary and Margaret Rigsby, grandparents Judy and Lee Brewer, step-grandparent Keith and Melba McClelland, step-sister Ciara McClelland, special friend Andrew Gross, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and lots of friends.

Funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Michael Lorance and Kevin Murphy will officiate. Interment will follow at Centertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home. Billy Wayne Stoner, 74

McMinnville resident and Athens, AL native Billy Wayne Stoner, age 74, was born May 24, 1950 and died suddenly on March 11, 2025 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville.

A retired employee of Middle Tennessee Natural Gas and a member of the Baptist church, he was the son of the late Grover and Dorothy Stoner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen Stoner, Wendell (Sarah) Stoner and Jerry Stoner.

Mr. Stoner loved to golf, fish and go camping. He loved his family and always put them first.

He was married to Linda Stoner of McMinnville on Jan. 6, 1970. In addition to his wife, Mr. Stoner is survived by two children, Terry (Tami) Stoner and Tammy Stoner (Dana Crouch), both of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Tyler (Whitney) Stoner, Caitlin (Austin) Orman, Heather Moats and Brooklyn (John) Rigsby; two great-grandsons, Ryker Rigsby and Rowen Rigsby; three brothers, Bobby Stoner, Mike Stoner and Kenneth Stoner, all of McMinnville; two sisters, Marie (Louie) Mason of McMinnville and Doris (Bob) Asbury of Murfreesboro; several nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, Jannette Stoner and Connie Stoner.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Paul Cunningham and Johnny Haston to officiate. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
