Dorothy Jean Butcher Anderson,

91, was a native of Warren County and a resident of Murfreesboro. She

was born Nov 20,

1933 and passed

away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Adam’s Place in Murfreesboro after an extended illness.

Jean was retired from Cummings Sign Company in Murfreesboro. She had also been a florist when she lived in McMinnville.

She was a member of East End Church of Christ.

Jean was the daughter of the late Howard and Irene Dodson Butcher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bud Butcher, Willard (Betty) Butcher, Bill (Helen) Butcher, Jimmy Butcher and brother-in-law, Hershel Perry, all of McMinnville; brother-in-law, Charles Anderson of Boston, MA; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hulett of Morrison, and Judy Gjebre of Miami, FL and brother-in-law,

Alex Massar of McMinnville.

Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, Ranse Anderson. They were happily married for 55 years. They were preceded in death by their daughter, Vicky Lynn Anderson.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Anderson and son, Michael Anderson, both of Murfreesboro; her granddaughter, Michelle (Alex) Van Dyke and twin great-granddaughters, Lyla Jean and Lexi Rose Van Dyke, all of Smyrna. She is also survived by her loving sister, Brenda Perry of McMinnville. Other family members are Jerry (Ann) Anderson of Dunlap, Gene (Ruth) Anderson of Saint Peters, MO; Charles Hulett, Bill Gjebre and Barbara England and sister-in-law, Betty Massar, all of McMinnville. Jean was also blessed by many nieces, nephews and her forever friends.

Funeral service

will be held at 3 p.m.

on Saturday, March

22, 2025 in High’s Chapel with James Austin officiating. Burial will follow at

Mt. View Cemetery

in McMinnville. Visitation will be

Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until time of service at High’s.
