Eric Sloan Davis, 40, passed away in his Alexandria, Va. Home on April 2, 2023 due to a prolonged battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life and life partner, Heather Davis and son, Gregor Davis of Alexandria, Va. Father, Terry Davis and brother, Jonathan Shane (Jennifer) Patch, both of McMinnville, also survive.
Born in McMinnville on May 15, 1982, Eric graduated from Boyd Christian School in 2000 and Middle Tennessee State University in 2006 with a degree in geography and a minor in film. Eric had a passion for both the world, with all of its mysteries, and for film and the arts. His son carries these legacies today with his engagement in theater and the arts.
Throughout his life Eric sought to identify with people and their struggles, making friends with people in every walk of life. His ability to listen and understand helped a lot of people make it through very difficult times. He was selfless and cared about people in a way that helped to bring them peace. Eric was also a proud founding member of the Tres Elefantes. His family and friends will miss him dearly and are saddened for those in this world who did not get a chance to meet him.
In his last selfless act, Eric donated his remains to medical research.
Eric was preceeded in death by his mother, Virginia Star Davis; maternal grandparents, Jimmie and Virginia McGee; uncle, James McGee and aunt, Vickie Davis.
