Gary Simons, 78, a Morrison resident and DeKalb County native, was born Nov. 29, 1938 and died July 29 in Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro following an extended illness.
He was the owner of Gary Simons Construction and son of the late Floyd and Pearl Cantrell Simons. Mr. Simons was married Aug. 5, 1961 to Dail Marie Stewart Simons who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Diana Pepper and spouse Dawn Grimes of St. Petersburg, Fla.; granddaughter, Dylan Mariah Pepper of St. Petersburg; siblings, Marie Bradford of Murfreesboro and Eva Davis, Nancy Watson, James “Pee Wee” Simons and David Simons all of Morrison; and numerous nieces and nephews of McMinnville.
There will be a gathering of family and friends for a memorial service at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2 in High’s Chapel with family and friends to officiate. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
