McMinnville resident and Warren County native James V. Barnes, Jr. “Jimmy," 76, was born Oct. 19, 1948 and died Oct. 21, 2024 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a brief illness. Retired owner of Vernon Barnes and Son Nursery and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Vernon and Ottolynne Cartwright Barnes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by special aunts, Dean (James) Savage and Lois Cartwright.
