Spencer resident and Van Buren County native Joe Lee Howard, 76, was born June 10, 1947 and died Dec. 6, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

A retired tool and die maker, he was the son of the late Eli and Alberta Clendenon Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Howard and Thomas Howard.

Mr. Howard is survived by children, Julie (John) Dodson of Bone Cave, Tenn. and Jody (Christine) Howard of Spencer; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Terry (Shanon) Howard of Spencer; sister, Kathy Hale of Spencer and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 in High’s Chapel with R.C. Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Seitz Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
