Mae Walling Davis, 83

Mae Walling Davis, 83, a Smyrna resident and Warren County native, was born July 2, 1938 and died Sept. 23 at her residence following a brief illness.

She worked in quality control for many years in a hosiery mill, was a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ, and the daughter of the late Rayburn Leroy and Ivora McGiboney Walling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Eugene Davis and sister Edna Rhea Scarbrough.

Mrs. Davis is survived by son and daughter-in-law Gary and Connie Taylor of LaVergne, five grandchildren, two brothers Jerry (Judy) Walling of Tracy City, and Hoyt (Nina) Walling of Marietta, Ga., two nieces, and five nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at High’s Chapel with Wayne Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
