McMinnville resident and Kuttawa, Ky. native Robert W. Jones, 94, was born Aug. 26, 1928 and died suddenly June 15, 2023 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital.

A United States Air Force veteran of Korea, retired banker, former CEO of First National Bank and a member of First United Methodist Church, he was the son of the late R. Tritt and Jennie Holland Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen R. Jones on Aug. 8, 2003; son, Rick Jones and sisters, Sarah Harper, Ann Lewis and Virginia Morris.

He was married to Peggy Jones of McMinnville, TN on Oct. 21, 2009. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Charlie Jones of Miami, Fla.; step-children, Jim (Dinky) West and Alan (Stacy) West, both of McMinnville; step-grandchildren, Collin West, Casey West, Lacey Carter and Colin Panter and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 19 at First United Methodist Church with Robert Case officiating. Burial will follow at Viola Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at High Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hamilton Street Activity Center or the charity of your choice.
