Virginia Star Davis, 70, of McMinnville, died Monday, Sept. 5 at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital. She was born on July 9, 1952 in Manchester, was of the Baptist faith, retired from working at Dollar General, and was an avid exerciser making many friends throughout the years at the Civic Center with whom she enjoyed spending time with. 

Davis was preceded in death by her parents Jimmie L. and Virginia Poe McGee and her brother James ‘Bud’ McGee.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years Terry Davis, sons Jonathan Shane (Jennifer) Patch and Eric Sloan (Heather) Davis, sister Judy (Johnny) Umbarger, grandchildren Megan Patch and Gregor Davis, several nieces and nephews that she thought so much of, and many family friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Roy Terry will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
