McMinnville resident and Sanford, N.C., native Vivian Thomas Oxendine, 72, was born April 23, 1948 and passed away Nov. 29 at home following a long battle with ovarian cancer.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Martin Luther Oxendine of McMinnville, son James Waylon Wood and daughter-in-law Sherry Ann Wood of Manchester, daughter Joyce Michele Wood and daughter-in-law Deborah Randles Wood of McMinnville, granddaughters Keri Michele Wood of Tullahoma and Danae Randles-Woolever of McMinnville, sister Toni Thomas Rose of Raleigh, N.C. and her brother John Charles Thomas of Sanford, N.C.,
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Hazel Ernestine Thomas and William Neil Thomas of Sanford, N.C., and her brother James Neil Thomas of Sanford, N.C.
Vivian was a retired emergency room nurse who loved to travel, fish and loved her family above all. Her journeys throughout her life took her all over the United States, all the way to Alaska, then back to Florida where she recently spent time enjoying the beauty of Panama City Beach.
There will be no service at this time. Her family will hold a celebration of life ceremony at a later date.
