Hearing loss is far more prevalent than most might think. This public health issue is the third most common physical condition after arthritis and heart disease. Yet, we do not hear of major fund raisers to help with research like we do the others, possibly because we can exist with this diagnosis and not be in an enormous amount of pain. However, the loss of hearing is indeed awkward for a large number of the population.
