Today marks the final day for what is one of the biggest weeks of the year for the Warren County School System – TCAP testing week.This is the week that will show if our kids are smart, if our teachers are teaching, and if our schools are effective. In short, this week is for all the marbles, if anyone actually played marbles anymore.I view standardized tests as a double-edged sword. While they do have some problems (“My kid tenses up and doesn’t do well on standardized tests”), I think they are an accurate indication of student achievement for the most part.The problem comes with the aftermath.
