“I never do the things I oughta; I think I’ll stay, it’s ‘New Year’s Day’.”
Charlie Robinson,
“New Year’s Day,” 2004
Another year has come and gone, and with its conclusion has once again come a disturbing trend.
As a social media devotee, I’ve noticed over the past few years many people decrying the previous year as the new one draws close. I’m sure you’ve seen these kinds of sentiments, where people bid a not-so-fond farewell to the current year, as if the dawning of Jan. 1 is going to change all of their lives for the better.
