The Boyd Lady Broncos continued adding to their trophy collection in 2024, winning the first-ever TSIAA South tournament championship. Boyd, which finished with 26 wins, also won the TSIAA regular-season championship while going a perfect 12-0 in conference games and finished second in the state in the TSIAA.
Boyd completed its sweep of the TSIAA South Division when it beat rival Franklin Road Christian 37-30 in the championship game. Freshman Brooke Kesey, now a sophomore closing in on 1,000 career points, was named to the all-conference team prior to the championship game.
Seniors Krista Chisam and Paige Sweeten (now playing at Motlow Community College) were able to close out their careers as Lady Broncos with 50 wins in their final two years. The team’s two wins in the NACA National Tournament, played in early March after the TSIAA championships, also pushed coach Tim Page to the 100-win mark in his four years at the helm of the program.
Boyd has started the 2024-25 season with a 10-8 record, though it will need to start bouncing back in January as the group went 0-3 over the last week while playing in the Tampa Christmas Invitational.
