Zerek Keel’s reputation as one of the best wrestlers in WCHS history grew tremendously in 2024. He started the year by crossing the 100-win plateau on his way to a state medal as a junior, then ending the year by dominating at the start of his senior year.
Keel was able to pick up four wins back in February, including two facing elimination, to place fifth in the 175-pound weight class in the TSSAA state tournament.
He’s been just as dominant this year, including recently winning top honors at the Bradley Invitational in the 215-pound division. He was also a Silver Spike winner (7-0 record) in the Lester-Welsh Duals.
Keel will be looking for his fourth straight state bid this February.
