City in-person sports registration Feb. 27

Online registration is currently underway for the city of McMinnville’s spring sports leagues. There will be a day for in-person registration next weekend.Sign-ups will be offered this coming Saturday, Feb. 27, at Three Star Mall from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon.The in-person registration is available for spring soccer, open to ages 3-18, and spring baseball, softball, and T-ball, open to ages 3-14.According to McMinnville Parks and Recreation league organizer Terry Beard, the plan is for the soccer league to begin play April 3 and for the baseball/ softball leagues to start in mid-April.“Our leagues are a great activity the whole family can enjoy,” said Beard. “It’s good for the kids to get outside and be active when they ordinarily spend so much time in front of a screen. This gives them a chance to participate in a team sport with kids their own age so it’s an opportunity to form friendships too.”
