It turned out to be the end of the line for the Lady Broncos when they made the trip to Cookeville Thursday night. Boyd was ousted a step short of the TSIAA Division 2 state championship game, falling to Highland Rim in straight sets. The Lady Broncos fell just short while fighting into extra points in the first two sets - 28-26 and 26-24 - before dropping the final set 25-18 that wrapped up the season.
