It may have been a holiday tournament, but the Lady Pioneers didn't find a lot of Christmas joy while playing in the Winterfest Classic held in Sevierville Dec. 26-30. Warren County lost all three of its games in the tournament, dropping to 3-10 overall this season.
The Lady Pioneers had a tough draw in the first round, facing off with Heritage, which was undefeated until dropping the championship game in the tourney. Warren County lost to the Mountaineers 73-36.
In the consolation bracket, the Lady Pioneers fell to Ensworth 65-44 and ended the tourney with a 45-34 loss to Whitley County (Ky.).
Warren County will be back in play Friday night when it takes on Stewarts Creek at home. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
