Few teenagers can say they are as strong as local athlete Luke Saldana. The WCHS junior put his power on full display recently, qualifying for the USA Power Lifting Nation Championship after an impressive showing in Knoxville. Saldana, who is also a state qualifier in shot put for Warren County, put on a show, finishing first in both the high school division and the Teen II (ages 16-17) division for 220 pounders. In three lifts, Saldana was able to push up more than 1,000 pounds to dominate the competition.
