Getting to the state tournament is no easy feat, but five WCHS athletes made it all the way to the final event in their respective sports in 2022. Ally Beneke and Ella van Vranken made it to Murfreesboro for the 2022 track tournament, Caleb Mackie and Zerek Keel wrestled in the 2022 TSSAA championships and Lauren Slatton made a run at the state golf title.

1 - Beneke wins state title in high jump

Ally Beneke became just the second individual state title winner in school history last May, claiming the championship in the high jump at the TSSAA Spring Fling.
Ally Beneke will forever be known as the first Lady Pioneer to claim an individual state title. The impressive high jumper put herself in the local record books last May, winning at the TSSAA Spring Fling.
