It was a season of memories for the WCMS Pioneer basketball team.

WCMS claimed top seed in the CTC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 10-2 conference record. The Pioneers followed that feat by winning the Area Tournament in Manchester last Friday.

The season came to an end Tuesday night at Stewarts Creek when the Pioneers suffered a 34-25 loss to Blackman.

Poor shooting plagued the Pioneers in a game they were leading at the half, 13-11. Carter Simpson finished as the team-high scorer for WCMS with 12.

Luke Simpson was an early spark, hitting all three of his 3-pointers in the opening half to propel the offense.
