The Warren County Middle School softball team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday night. Hosting Siegel, a four-run fourth inning helped the Lady Pioneers climb out of an early hole, but it would not be enough on the way to an 8-6 loss to the Lady Cavaliers.
Warren County recorded six hits over the course of the evening, led by Reese Reinitz with three. June Cossit, Ella Wells and Lyvia Wilson each added one.
Wells had three of the team’s six RBI. Wilson and Adasah Haswell followed with two and one, respectively.
Cossit and Reinitz each scored two runs. Lyvia Wilson and Charley Wilson both added one apiece.
Charley Wilson went the distance in the circle, pitching all seven innings and finishing with three strikeouts, four hits, eight runs and one walk.
The loss put the Lady Pioneers at 6-1 on the season.
