Jaylan Clayton will be one of six Pioneers who will be representing WCHS this weekend in the TSSAA state wrestling tourney.

No path to the title will be easy for the six Pioneers heading to the TSSAA wrestling state tournament this weekend, but Warren County's wrestlers are all hopeful they can make it to the podium.

Jakoby Odineal, Burgess Galligan, Jaylan Clayton, Zerek Keel, Xavier Simmons and Marley Harris will all be wrestling for a title starting Friday at 9 a.m. at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center.

Odineal, back in the 106-pound bracket for the second straight year, will take on Jin Saito, a sophomore from Summit, in the opening round.

Galligan will face Saxon Mattison junior from Science Hill first. Nolan Barton, a junior and a medalist at 106 pounds last year, could be awaiting Galligan in the second round if he's able to win his state debut.

Clayton, a sophomore who has surged over the last month, will start off with fellow sophomore Aiden Rowe from Clarksville.

At 215 pounds, Keel will be one of six former medalists in the 16-person bracket. He begins against senior David Reed from Science Hill.

Standing in Keel's way to the finals could be Ashton Boswell (fourth at 190 pounds last year) in the second round and a matchup with either Aiden Elmore (fifth at 215 pounds in 2024) or Troy Dyszkiewicz (sixth at 215 pounds) in the semifinals.

Keel beat Dyszkiewicz 1-0 last week in the sectionals before losing to Cleveland's Gabe Moore, who could be a favorite to make the finals after a third-place finish last year.

In heavyweight, Simmons will take on Jefferon County senior Seaton Tallent in the first round. Simmons has three former medalists in his group of eight in the 285-pound division.

Fresh off a region championship last week, Harris will take on Lily Avalos - sixth-place last year in girls 152 - to open her second state run.
