BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts officials are set to release preliminary findings of an investigation into the death of a 36-year-old woman whose body went unnoticed for more than two days at the bottom of a state-run swimming pool.

The state Department and Conservation and Recreation, which oversees state-run pools, scheduled a news conference for late Wednesday morning.

Marie Joseph apparently drowned accidentally while swimming in the cloudy waters of a Fall River pool on June 26. Authorities have said that six lifeguards were on duty at the time.

Joseph's body did not surface until more than two days later. The pool continued to operate during that period. Two Fall River health inspectors who checked the pool those two days have been placed on paid leave.
