When Gilley Pool closes for the season, it will get a facelift. McMinnville officials are going out for bids on the work.“The pool will be resurfaced after this season,” said McMinnville Parks and Recreation director Scott McCord.Resurfacing the pool will include draining the pool, inspection, acid clean, installing waterproof safety tile, applying base coat to fill voids and blend surface, resurfacing the pool with plaster, washing surface after installing plaster surface and filling pool, among other items. Work will also include:• The removal of existing lane line tile in both directions and installation of new racing lanes and targets.• Remove and discard all existing tile around deck edge of pool and installation of a new deck coating around the pool deck edge.• Provide and install ADA approved chairlift that will accommodate up to 400 pounds, and provide and install ADA approved handrails for zero entry.Parks and Recreation Committee members Aldermen Mike Neal, chairman, and Billy Wood approved the bid package Aug. 13.
