A woman has found herself serving time again after receiving four new charges.
Christy Guire Stevens, 59, appeared in Circuit Court for plea or trial selection this month. She was charged with DUI third offense, driving while license revoked, theft under $1,000, criminal trespassing and violation of probation.
Stevens’ most recent charges occurred after a trip to Walmart in April. According to the warrant, on April 19 a white female, later identified as Stevens, approached an individual’s shopping cart in the store. Stevens reportedly took the wallet from the top of this person’s shopping cart. Inside the wallet, there was $400 in cash. The individual then allegedly chased Stevens into the parking lot and got her wallet back. Stevens got into a vehicle and drove off. She was identified by McMinnville Police Department Sgt. Joseph Butler and she admitted to being involved in the incident. She was charged with theft of property and criminal trespass for this incident and her bond was set at $2,000.
In court, Stevens was sentenced to serve 30 days and pay $75, court costs and any restitution for theft. She was also sentenced to serve 30 days and is banned from Walmart for criminal trespassing. These sentences run concurrently to each other.
Stevens was also sentenced for her other charges of DUI third offense and driving while her license was revoked. She received these charges in June of 2022 when Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Billy Joe Crouch was dispatched to Armstrong Cemetery Road. According to the warrant, a female was reported lying face down in the road at the cemetery. Crouch identified the female as Stevens. He reportedly asked her how she got there and she said she drove there.
Crouch then had Stevens perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Stevens was stopped during the test to ensure her safety. Crouch had EMS check her out on the scene and EMS advised she was under the influence of something. Dispatch advised Crouch that Stevens had a restriction on her license due to being suspended out of Rutherford County for failure to satisfy fines.
Stevens was sentenced to 11 months 29 days to serve 150 days and ordered to pay $1,100 plus court costs and have her driver’s license revoked for six years for DUI third offense. She was also sentenced to 11 months 29 days and ordered to pay a fine of $50 for driving while license was revoked. These sentences run consecutively.
Stevens was previously arrested in 2012 for concealing a mobile meth lab in an 86-year-old woman’s house. Following a wreck, Stevens reportedly entered a woman’s residence to use the restroom, and carried a one-pot meth lab from the vehicle she was driving, into the restroom and placed it under the sink. She was charged with tampering with evidence, initiating the process to manufacture meth, second-offense DUI and fourth-offense driving on a revoked license. Stevens additionally was sentenced to serve 45 days for violation of probation.
She also received jail time in 2017 after she asked to test drive a vehicle at C&C Auto Sales and then stole the vehicle, crashed it and went on a crime spree. While running from the law, she wrecked the vehicle while ramming into another vehicle. During this time, she also reportedly broke into All-O-Ksions and rifled through vehicles there, taking several items.
She entered guilty pleas to charges of grand theft auto, burglary, theft and driving on a suspended license. She was ordered by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to serve one year of a five-year sentence and may be furloughed to Love Lady Treatment Center for treatment.
