The Bonner FCE Club met on Jan 7 at Westwood Church of Christ. It was a combined meeting with our scheduled scrapbook workshop. President Joyce Britton called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. There were no visitors or new members. Chaplain Janice Boyd read a devotional about choosing your own personal fashion style. She then led a short prayer for the day.
After reciting The Pledge of Allegiance, 12 members answered the roll call question, “Has anyone in your family ever worked at a local clothing or shoe factory?” The minutes of the last meeting will be read at the February meeting. Treasurer Mary Mann gave a year-end financial report and collected dues for 2025 from some members.
Vice-President Myrna McKinley led a discussion encouraging members to find friends or neighbors to join the FCE. She started off by suggesting two ladies that some members already know. Brenda Mitchell showed some of her collection of beads and offered to hold a workday to help members make a beading project of their own.
Reading reports were given by Mitchell, Britton, McKinley, Mann, Freda Clifton, Melanie Evans, Boyd and Jean Inman.
Regional Information Day will be Jan 23. There will be special project leader training at 11 a.m. on Jan 28 in the early voting room. Boyd and Mitchell will be attending. The vice president’s 2024 annual reports, the 2024 Club Scrapbook, and the 2024 Secretary Book are all due by Jan 31. There will be training in judging qualifications on Feb 28 at Murfreesboro. The cost will be $40 and will cover judging the Warren County A&L Fair entries or any other competitions in our area.
Britton worked on her reports to finalize 2024. Bonner will host the County Council meeting on March 31. The menu will be barbeque, sides, drinks and desserts. The club monies will provide plates, cups and utensils. Our next meeting will be Feb 4 at Helen’s on The Green at 11 a.m.
After tallying up Gold Stars for participation and reading the FCE Creed, members adjourned to work on their scrapbook.
