The Tourism Development Board has officially been removed in lieu of a proposed Tourism and Marketing Department within the City of McMinnville. This decision comes on the heels of an idea broached by Mayor Ryle Chastain in July to replace the board with an internal department to expedite the process of bringing tourism efforts to fruition. Prior to this decision, Chastain maintained the board experienced difficulty and he felt making it an entity of the city would resolve many of its hurdles.
