Corn Day drew a large crowd at the Warren County Farmers Market Saturday morning.

During the annual event, market vendors donated some of their corn and gave away boiled corn on the cob for free. Farmers Market manager Ginger Wanamaker says this year went very well.

“Corn Day was a big success,” said Wanamaker. “We cooked up several dozen ears of corn and that was given away. I'm not sure how much corn was sold that day but I’m sure it was several hundred dozen ears.”

The free corn was served with butter and salt. Nine-year-old Isaac Caldwell went to the Farmers Market with his grandparents Saturday morning and enjoyed the day. Caldwell said he loves corn. Types of corn that were available Saturday included ambrosia, peaches and cream and silver queen sweet corn.

The Farmers Market is located at 100 Market St. and will have multiple other events coming up soon, such as: watermelon day, customer appreciation day, a chili cook off and baked pie day. More details on these events will be released as they become available.
