During the regularly scheduled Warren County Commission meeting, the resolution to create a Tourism Authority was brought to the floor and ultimately approved.

Resolution no. 4-2025 explains the authority will consist of a seven-member board, appointed by the county executive and confirmed through the full commission board.

The authority is tasked with promoting tourism assets throughout the county, discussing the procurement of additional assets as well as communicating with the commission and citizens of Warren county as to the state of tourism resources and the impacts on local economy.

Composed of four appointed county commissioners and three Warren countians, each individual will serve a four-year term aligning with the county-wide election cycle. The commissioner seats will conclude on Aug. 31, 2026 and the citizen seats are set to expire two years later, on Aug. 31, 2028.

An administrator was also assigned to the new Tourism Authority, and their duties include reporting activities to the authority.

The initial committee roster was approved as suggested and consists of:

• Christy Ross, Commissioner

• Carlene Brown, Commissioner

• Scott Rubley, Commissioner

• Brad Hillis, Commissioner

• Sarah Cantrell, Citizen

• Tim Grissom, Citizen

• Damon Graham, Citizen

• Jason Hillis, Administrator
