Monday night, the Petting Zoo at the Warren County A&L Fair was filled with young and old alike who were enjoying close encounters with approximately 71 different animals.

The zoo, which is based out of Sparta, is independently owed by Darrell and Gretchen Simmons. Per Gretchen, they travel the Southeast year-round with their variety of animals which include camels, bulls, kangaroos, donkeys, goats, and much more.

For a minimal fee, food can be purchased and the animals will be eating from your hand, literally.

If you wish to visit the Petting Zoo this week, hours are 5 to 9 p.m. thru Saturday and also 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
