If you’d like a Thanksgiving feast, without having to clean up the dishes, eight Tennessee state parks are having meals this Thursday.
That includes Gaul’s Gallery Restaurant at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Van Buren County. The restaurant will be having its traditional Thanksgiving buffet this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The restaurant seats 220.
Prices for the buffet, which will include all the traditional Thanksgiving favorites, are $15.95 for adults, $7.98 for children 6 to 12, and children under 5 eat free.
The Thanksgiving menu will include honey-brined smoked turkey, roasted turkey with dressing, cold baked ham, Southern-fried catfish with hushpuppies, roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, carrots, salad, and homemade breads, cobblers and pies.
Gaul’s Gallery at Fall Creek Falls is known for its Southern-style cuisine and casual setting.
If you eat too much Thursday, you can return to Fall Creek Falls on Friday for an after-Thanksgiving hike called the Turkey Pen Trot. It’s a moderate, two-mile hike that includes some of the state park’s signature sights. Meet at the camper check-in station at 9 a.m.
Hikers are advised to wear layers appropriate for the forecast and to bring some drinking water.
For more information on the Thanksgiving buffet, call (423) 881-5241 ext. 253. The restaurant is located at 2536 lakeside Drive, Spencer, TN, 38585.
