Former alderman questions public notices, tax hike

Former city alderman Everett Brock spoke to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday night regarding policy on public notices and his thoughts on a prospective property tax-rate increase. Brock reiterated some thoughts from a recent letter to the editor in the Southern Standard in his address to the board. He responded to the idea of a 41-cent tax hike that had been floated in budget meetings at the end of May.
