Homecoming is right around the corner and Warren County High School has nominated its 2023 Homecoming court.
Homecoming is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 20. Every year, the student body nominates students from each class to represent them. A homecoming king and queen will be selected from the senior representatives at halftime of the Pioneer football game against Wilson Central.
Representing the freshman class this year are Dylan Aguilar, Ryder Gillespie, Aubrey Oleksik and Zoey Snider. Representing the sophomores are Jake Fann, Isaiah Robeldo, Kendra Fann and Jayla Garibaldi. Representing the junior class are Gage Harris, Jaidyn Scott, Gabbie Himes and Lily Rains
The senior representatives are Jackson Dunlap, Kora Forbes, Dominick Marquez, Molly Smith, Talan Mullican, Shelbe Gross, Jax Patterson and Miranda Medley.
Homecoming week begins when WCHS students return from fall break on Oct. 17. The WCHS student council announced dress-up days for the week. Tuesday is BBQ Dad vs. Soccer Mom Day. Wednesday is Barbie vs. Oppenheimer Day.
Thursday is Rhyme Without Reason and/or White Lie T-Shirt Day. On Friday, students will wear their homecoming shirts or something red, white and blue to support the Pioneers. The student council will be posting a video on the WCHS Facebook page soon showing examples of each dress-up day.
The homecoming parade will be downtown on Friday, Oct. 20 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The classes have been hard at work creating their floats. The Pioneers will be facing the Wildcats, so there are sure to be a few wildcats incorporated into the floats this year.
On Saturday, Oct. 21 there will be a homecoming dance for WCHS students. The theme of the dance is Friday Night Lights.
