A lightning strike lit a field ablaze on Chapel Hill Drive during Friday afternoon’s storms. Russell Dulaney, who rents the property in the Irving College area, said he heard and felt the strike, and quickly saw flames in the field behind his home. Neighbors assisted with fire extinguishers and a tractor to snuff out the blaze before responders from the Collins River Fire Department arrived to make sure everything was fully extinguished.
