Multiple Warren County School bus routes were closed Wednesday due to icy roads which posed a danger to drivers and students.
Students who were absent due to ice on roads will not receive any repercussions from being absent from school as their attendance was excused due to road conditions.
Bus routes impacted by road conditions included Fred Cooper Road, Bryan Road, Sullivan Road, Dan Jones Road, Nash Road and Smithtown Road.
“We anticipated some roads to still have ice this morning, due to the low temperatures again overnight, which is why we called for bus driver’s discretion,” Sarah Cantrell said Wednesday. “Driver’s discretion is our normal operating procedure. Any student whose bus route was impacted by road conditions this morning and therefore could not attend school will be excused. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding over the last few days as we made decisions based on the safety of our students and their families, faculty, staff and transportation personnel.”
