A pair of McMinnville residents recently found themselves under arrest for various charges in neighboring DeKalb County.

On May 21, Rock Island resident Jason James McKeon, 40, was arrested for burglary, vandalism and theft of property. According to DeKalb County sheriff Patrick Ray, McKeon entered a barn on McMinnville Highway on or around May 11, intending to commit a theft. He was alleged to have removed and destroyed a fence on the property, causing under $1,000 in damage, and stole a 1970’s model International 574 tractor valued at $8,000.

DeKalb and Warren County authorities collaborated on the case, which also resulted in the arrest of 51-year-old Uncas Singer of Allen, Tenn., on identical charges. McKeon and Singer both appeared in court June 6.

On May 25, Dylan Chase Myers, 32, of McMinnville was arrested and charged for third-offense DUI. He was stopped on East Broad St. in Smithville after leaving his lane, and was alleged to have a strong odor of alcohol and red, watery eyes. He allegedly admitted to having three to four alcoholic beverages, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Myers reportedly has prior convictions for DUI from July 2014 and December 2016, both of which also occurred in DeKalb County. He was scheduled to appear in court June 13.
