The annual Christmas Parade went smoothly last Saturday and got many in the Christmas spirit.

The rain cleared out by parade time and many gathered to see the creative floats. The theme of the parade this year was Christmas movies and the participants did not disappoint. McMinnville Parks and Recreation program coordinator Rene A. Alvarez was pleased with how the parade went.

“I would say it went really well. I think it ran really smoothly,” said Alvarez.

Many participated in this year’s parade. Alvarez says they had roughly 96 entries.

“I am glad we had a lot of participation,” said Alvarez.

This year’s people’s choice winner was the Warren County Middle School varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders who wowed the crowd with sparklers on their “Elf” themed float. “Elf” was a popular movie theme on Saturday along with “The Polar Express,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
