Hank Patton of the Urban Forestry Department and his wife, Lisa, were invited to join Mayor Ryle Chastain and his family on stage during Saturday's Flip the Switch ceremony. Hundreds braved the cold to witness the first official lighting of the display which Patton and his team have been working on since October. The display has been a highlight of McMinnville's Christmas celebration for over a decade. It was announced at the event that this will be Patton's last year with the department as he is retiring.
