An apparent road rage incident has resulted in the shooting death of a former McMinnville resident living in Alabama.
According to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Dakota Nunley, 22, lost his life in the altercation, which reportedly took place Wednesday between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
Investigators had not made an arrest as of press time but had made online posts asking for information pertaining to the whereabouts of a large, white male with a gray goatee in a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner.
The 4-Runner was reportedly involved in an incident with two white Dodge pickups between the city of Palmerdale and Remlap First Baptist Church, a 4.6-mile stretch along Highway 75.
Gunfire erupted during the incident and Nunley was shot.
Blount County is located in the northern portion of Alabama between Huntsville and Birmingham.
Nunley still has a number of family members in this area and funeral arrangements will be conducted by High Funeral Home. Arrangements are not complete at this time.
According to his Facebook page, Mr. Nunley attended Warren County High School and enjoyed four-wheeling. Several pictures of a white Dodge pickup are posted on his page.
