Grant Kemmerer feeds a capybara, one of many animals who frequent his show Wild World of Animals Live.

Take a walk — or a seat — on the wild side with the latest act to come to Park Theater.

Wild World of Animals Live is as educational as it is entertaining and features a variety of wild animals for the audience.

The show includes about 13 different animals ranging from reptiles and birds to mammals. With such a diverse lineup, the show runner Grant Kemmerer hopes to illustrate the importance of all animals rather than a singular group. Fast-paced and balanced with fun and facts, Wild World of Animals Live has historically been well-received by both children and adults.

Kemmerer was born in Lancaster, PA and grew up in Miami, where his proximity to both the Everglades and the ocean molded him into a dedicated animal advocate from an early age.

Kemmerer became certified as a scuba driver and has introduced people from all over the world to the intriguing Everglades ecosystem and alligators. He has performed live animal programs in 37 states but trained animals for TV appearances. A guest lecturer for one of the leading eco-tourism companies in the world, he often travels to the Amazon and Galapagos Islands in his journey.

In addition to stage shows, parties and other similar events, Kemmerer has taken his act on innumerable TV programs ranging from the Martha Stewart Show, CBS Early Show and even Fox and Friends. Kemmerer has also supplied animals for the National Wildlife Federation, National Geographic Animal Planet, Saturday Night Live and a variety of other entities.

Wild World of Animals Live has two showtimes today — noon and again at 7 p.m. — and tickets are on sale now. The showtime is approximately an hour and a half for the noon showing and two hours for the evening.

The noon showing’s general admission for adults begins at $10 and children ages 2-12 years is $8. Respectively, the evening show’s admission is $20 and $10. A family fun pack of tickets, which includes admission for two adults and three kids, is $40; the same package is $50 for the 7 p.m. show.

Tickets can be purchased on Park Theater’s website, mcminnvilleparktheater.com, by phone at (931) 506-2787 or at its box office during normal business hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If available, a limited number of tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the event, while supplies last.
