A Winchester woman faces multiple charges after being stopped near Angels Bridge just before Christmas.
Azayla Makiri Passion Martin, 21, was taken into custody on the night of Dec. 23, with charges of reckless endangerment, evading arrest, child endangerment and driving on a suspended license.
According to the arrest report filed by Warren County Deputy Alex Ramirez, a traffic stop was conducted just after 7 p.m. on Dec. 23 on the Hwy. 70S bypass. Ramirez reported a male driver exited the vehicle and ran on foot, at which point the vehicle left the scene but was stopped again after a short pursuit.
Ramirez said he had the driver exit the vehicle, as well as the passenger on the rear driver’s side. After being detained by officers, the passenger identified as Samia Miller, however Ramirez stated he located a valid driver’s license which did not match the passenger’s appearance or date of birth. He reportedly identified her as Kristy Miller, who dispatch stated had active warrants out of Winchester.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Martin, who allegedly had her 1-year-old child in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop and was determined to have a suspended license for an insurance violation. The male who fled on foot was identified as Coreon Sutton.
A K-9 officer conducted a search of the vehicle, giving a positive alert to the presence of narcotics. Deputies allegedly located a small amount of a green, leafy substance, as well as five blue pills identified as amphetamine/dextroamphetamine, as well as a white pill which was unidentified.
Martin is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 9.
