Autumn Turner, director of teaching and learning PreK-6, has been selected by the Tennessee Department of Education for the inaugural class for the Principal Supervisor Network. She was selected as one of 25 participants across the state.

The Principal Supervisor Network is a professional learning and development organization developed through a partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education and the University of Washington Center for educational leadership for those who supervise principals.

Turner said when she learned of the opportunity, she knew it would be a highly competitive process. Even though she was unsure whether she’d be chosen, she decided to go through the application process in hopes of bringing high-quality content to Warren County.

“We have amazing principals who work tirelessly for their schools, teachers, and students,” said Turner. “Their jobs get harder and harder every year. I hope participating in the Principal Supervisor Network helps to strengthen my ability to support them in more meaningful ways.”

This network will involve an initial three-hour virtual kick-off and three, two-day in-person meetings between now and October. Between meetings, network participants will receive coaching support from University of Washington Center for Educational Leadership personnel.

“We are extremely proud Autumn was selected for this program,” said Director of Schools Bobby Cox. “We hope the program will allow her to learn from others from across the state not only improving her knowledge but allow her to share her knowledge with others in our district.”
